چکیده

Polydopamine (PDA) is the final oxidation product of dopamine or other catecholamines. Since first reports PDA coatings starting around 2007, these have been widely studied as a versatile and inexpensive one-step coating option for biomaterial functionalization. The attach to wide range materials can subsequently be modified with biomolecules nanoparticles. However, strong candidate research even clinical use, it important unravel changes in physico-chemical properties cell-PDA interaction function heat sterilization procedures shelf storage periods. Four groups were examined this study: titanium (Ti), PDA-coated Ti samples either stored up two weeks at room temperature heated 121 °C 24 h, respectively. We used X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) Water contact angle (WCA) characterize chemical composition surface groups. Cell adhesion proliferation was by three different cell types: human primary dermal fibroblasts (hDF), epidermal keratinocytes (HaCaTs) murine preosteoblastic line (MC3T3-E1), Cells cultured on coated 4 3 days 5 days. Both thermal treatment 121℃ h 2 increased amount quinone decreased amine detected XPS ToF-SIMS. Even though reactions WCA coating, we found that post-treatments both hDFs, HaCaTs MC3T3-E1 s compared pristine PDA. This emphasizes importance post-treatment shelf-time coatings.

Colorless polydopamine coatings for creating functional interfaces

Since the emergence of surface modification techniques, including polydopamine (PDA) layers using a single deposition process that is based on the oxidative self-polymerization of dopamine (DA), the number of studies concerning the functionalization of material surfaces via PDA coating has increased. While PDA is simple to apply to cover onto various kinds of substrates, most of conventional PD...

Strong Antibacterial Polydopamine Coatings Prepared by a Shaking-assisted Method

Strong antibacterial polydopamine (PDA) coatings prepared by a facile shaking-assisted method is reported for the first time. It was found that a minor modification made to the conventional synthesis procedure of PDA coatings, viz. replacing the static solution condition with a shaking solution condition by using a mechanical shaker, can produce the roughened polydopamine (rPDA) coatings at dif...

Cell fasting: Cellular response and application of serum starvation

Humans suffer transient or persistent starvation due to a lack of food intake, either because of fasting, voluntary dieting, or due to the scarcity of available food. At the cellular level it is possible to possess pathological starvation during ischemia and solid tumors. Blood provides many nutrients to our cells, and researchers provide these nutrients to cells in culture in the form of en...
